Inception, Printworks

Watched Inception last night at the Printworks (itself, a dreamlike setting: noodle bars, chippy, nightclubs, Irish pub, high-vis’d security guards, and giant matchboxes inside a gutted Victorian printers).

The good: original idea with blockbuster action (Memento meets Bourne); Marion Cotillard; Tom Hardy’s scene-stealing; the chase scene with DiCaprio squeezing through a narrow alley; the Johnny Marr-inspired score.

The bad: some clunky patches of dialogue in the opening third as the cast attempt to explain the mechanics of the story. The Paris/Mombasa bit barrels along happily enough, but there are a few grinding gear changes.

Slept like a log last night.
