The morning cycle to work involves 13 traffic lights and four pedestrian crossings. Not one of the lights is provided for the safety/ease of use of cyclists. I stop when I need to, slow down for pedestrians when required.
In London, Boris Johnson has floated the idea of allowing cyclists to turn left on red lights, as long as they give way to pedestrians. I’d welcome it here, though there’s no sign on the Council’s website or Cycle GM off-shoot.
